 The first daughter of the President Gooddluck Jonathan, Elizabeth Faith Sakwe will tie the knot with her heartthrob, Godswill Osim Edward 5th of April, 2014 in Bayelsa and on the 12th of April in Abuja.
The traditional wedding would hold at president Jonathan's compound in Bayelsa, while the church wedding and grand reception will hold at the International Conference Center, Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja.
Faith is an adopted child of the Jonathan's and she is the first child.

Faith read law at University of Calabar and that's where she met Godswill.

New Bauchi Airport Named After Tafawa Balewa

Bauchi State governor Isa Yuguda has named the new airport after Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
Yuguda told journalists today that the airport, located about 20 km along Bauchi – Kano road, is to be known as “Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport after Nigeria first prime minister.

He said:“God has given the Bauchi people, the opportunity to be part of Nigeria’s great history by producing the first Prime Minister in the country. “As you are all aware, most international airports are named after prominent persons, especially past presidents.

“As far as Bauchi State is concerned, we owe him (Tafawa Balewa), for placing the state on the map of prominent states in the country; so it is an honour naming the airport after him,” he said.

Really sad news. Singer Margaret Mary Oluwatoyin Ejiro Joseph popularly known as Zara Gretti has died. She died this morning in Nigeria after a battle with Multiple Sclerosis. (MS is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord).

Syrian Thief Blindfolded, Shot, Crucified By Terrorist Group

 Terrorists blindfolded, shot in the head and strung up the suspected murderer on a crucifix for all to see in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.

The unidentified man was accused of 'purposefully killing a Muslim to take his money' in a Sharia court set up by a terrorist organisation.

 A 44-year-old man,Mark Goddard, has allegedly cut his own hand off with a homemade guillotine after enduring years of excruciating nerve pain.

Finanly: Minister For Interior Abba Moro Accepts Blame for NIS Tragedy

The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro yesterday accepted blame for the poorly conducted immigration recruitment exercise that led to the death of 16 youths on March 15th. Mr Moro appeared before the Senate Committee on Interior Matters Panel instituted by the senate to investigate circumstances that led to the ill-fated exercise. 75-Year-Old Man Dies After Sex Round With Alleged Married Woman

A 75-year-old man, identified as Elder David, slumped and died after several rounds of sex with an alleged married woman in Benin, Edo State.

The septuagenarian was said to have died on, Wednesday, at about 1pm in a hotel in the Government Reservation Area of the state.
The woman was however, taken away by the policemen to prevent the angry mob from attacking her.
One of the deceased son, who declined to give his name said that his father left home 45 minutes before the tragic incident.

“We were called by the police to come to the Benin Central Hospital, only to see my father’s corpse. When we enquired, the doctors on duty said my father was brought stone-dead to the hospital.”

The 75-year-old man's corpse has been deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary.

The DSP of the state, Moses Equavoen, when contacted yesterday, said the command is yet to be briefed on the incident.

Ibadan Horror: IG Finally Makes Official Statement

Almost seven days since a kidnappers’ den was discovered in Ibadan, Oyo State, western Nigeria, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has finally made an official statement.

Military kill 11 Boko Haram members at Cameroon border

 The Nigerian military liquidated 11 suspected Boko Haram fighters close to Cameroon border in Adamawa state on March 27, 2014, Thursday.
DHQ spokesman, Maj.Gen. Chris Olukolade, said in a statement that terrorists were forced out of their hideout in the forest by hunger.
The group of Boko Haram fighters attempted to escape to Cameroon through Taraba and Gumti in Adamawa State. However, they were stunned by heavy fire from troops on patrol.
Gen. Olukolade explained that they had been trapped as a result of ongoing offensive by troops along the borders. Some of the terrorists gave up, because they could no longer bear the hunger in their make shift camps.

Indian Mob Attacks, Beats up Nigerian Tourist after he Missed his Way in India

A Nigerian tourist who lost his way in India was chased and thrashed by a mob that suspected him of being  a terrorist or a member of an Indian guerrilla group, known as the Naxalites.

National Conference "Sleeping Delegate" Dies(Photo)

One of the delegates of the National Conference currently being held in Abuja, a retired police Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Hamma Misau has died at the National Hospital in Abuja.

Mallam Misau, who passed from the undisclosed illness at the age of 67, became famous after the photo of him sleeping during the conference went viral in the social media.
Speaking with Sahara Reporters, cousin to the deceased, Barrister Mohammed Hamma, confirmed the information adding that a Muslim funeral will be soon held in Bauchi.

Explosion Rocks Abuja Shopping Plaza

Pandemonium broke out in Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Thursday when explosions rocked Shagari Plaza on Moshood Abiola Way, Garki-Area One, Abuja.

The quick succession in which the explosion occurred made customers and neighbours to scamper into safety, while many of the residents in the area expressed fears that it was a bomb explosion.
According to an eyewitness account, the first explosion occurred at about 5:17pm when a gas cylinder exploded and caused a jeep parked close to the gas dispenser went up in flames.

 According to a report Intouch Weekly, Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband Lamar Odom 'got dirty' on the phone with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his two children, Liza Morales.

Soyinka Wants Nigeria To Practise New Democracy

Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka has voted in favour of the parliamentary government as the system of government that will serve Nigerians better than the presidential system the country currently operates.

Soyinka made this statement during a debate titled: “Will Nigeria be better Served by a parliamentary System of Government?, at the inaugural debate of the St. John’s Forum, held in Lagos on Wednesday. 

Other panellists for the debate included former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia, who argued in favour of parliamentary government as well as the Director, Legislative Support Services, National Institute of Legislative Services, Okechukwu Oko, who argued in favour of the presidential system and Associate Professor in African Politics at the University of Oxford, Raufu Mustapha, who was in favour of a hybrid system of monarchy. 

While denouncing the cost of running the presidential system of government as presently constituted in the country, which he described as “staggering,” Mr. Soyinka argued that “any system is only as good as the quality of the humanity that runs it.”

Caught on camera: Nigerian Embassy Worker who says he can Smuggle Stolen Goods out of the UK in Diplomatic Bags

An international undercover investigation filmed by ITV's Exposure has exposed a worker at the Nigeria High Commission (NHC) who claimed he could transport items, including stolen art, out of "any airport" using his diplomatic connections!

Posing as a criminal gang, the Exposure team, led by reporter Mark Williams-Thomas, met Alfa Abutu, in a London hotel. Abutu told them that he could transport their stolen art to Paris.

"Give me your suitcase, this suitcase usually has to be wrapped with the national flag before we can move it anywhere. And we use diplomatic vehicle whereby the police authorities will not stop us," Abutu said.
