End of an era: Nokia won't be making phones anymore, says Rajeev Suri

Nokia's new CEO Rajeev Suri took the stage today, and mapped out the future of the Finnish telecommunications giant after its phone business got acquired by Microsoft.

First off, as sad as this sounds, and despite some unsubstantiated rumors, Nokia doesn't plan on making phones anymore. "We are not looking to a direct consumer return to handsets per se," were his actual words. Still, there is a silver lining, and it is that there is an extremely high interest in licensing the brand, he added, so at some point in the longer term the Nokia name "will return to the consumer world." Now, whether this will be with phones, or other devices and maybe services, remains to be seen, but the hopes that Nokia will quickly start churning out Android handsets seems dead and buried now.

Some People Just Won't Mind Their Business...Lol

So this happened to Mark Zuckerberg yesterday. Mark has long been the target of Internet trolls, and on Thursday the billionaire Facebook founder finally had the chance to shut one down.

Zuckerberg had taken to Facebook Thursday morning to announce that his company would be helping in the global fight against Ebola by providing internet connectivity in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, in order to help medical and aid workers, and also posting information from UNICEF. He then urged everyone to donate money if they could, saying Facebook had created a program that would allow individuals to do so directly, at which point a user from Spain by the name of Pepe Pepe Pepe decided to attack Zuckerberg - but without doing his research first.

The young man commented under Zuckerberg's video:

"Am Proud To Be Gay" Apple CEO Tim Cook Says

Tim Cook
Tim Cook: Throughout my professional life, I’ve tried to maintain a basic level of privacy. I come from humble roots, and I don’t seek to draw attention to myself. Apple is already one of the most closely watched companies in the world, and I like keeping the focus on our products and the incredible things our customers achieve with them.

At the same time, I believe deeply in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, who said: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ” I often challenge myself with that question, and I’ve come to realize that my desire for personal privacy has been holding me back from doing something more important. That’s what has led me to today.

ong with the launch of 32-bit Chrome 37, Google today also released the 64-bit version of Chrome for Windows 7 and Windows 8 in the stable channel. Scientist invents ‘robot’ that kills Ebola virus

RECENTLY, in effort to eliminate Ebola at the source, through use of innovative disinfection technology, two “germ-killing robots”  were deployed from the US to the JFK Hospital and ELWA Hospital both in Monrovia, Republic of Liberia, both hotspots of the Ebola disease outbreak.

The robots, technically known as TRU-D SmartUVC, were used to disinfect health care environments where Ebola patients are being treated. Good Health Weekly gathered that TRU-D is the only portable UV disinfection device on the market with Sensor360 technology, which calculates the time needed to react to room variables such as size, geometry, surface reflectivity and the amount and location of equipment in the room and effectively deliver a lethal dose of UV-C light during a single cycle from a single, central location in the room.

CAR REVIEW: 2014 Audi A4

For 2014, the Audi A4 produces 220 horsepower, up from 211 a year ago. A few more features, including Bluetooth and an iPod interface, are now standard.

Introduction

The Audi A4 has been so good for so long that it's easy to take this entry-level luxury sedan's excellence for granted. Its styling is familiar but still attractive, while its cabin is what we've come to expect from Audi in terms of elegant design and superior quality. The features list is generous, yet the A4 typically undercuts the prices on its German rivals. And while certain competitors are more memorable to drive, the A4 still finds a nice middle ground between the sport and comfort sides of the spectrum.
