 Mehmet Ali Agca, the Turkish man who shot and injured former Pope, John Paul II in 1981 has laid flowers on the dead pontiff's tomb in the Vatican.

Four More Nigerian Soldiers Sentenced To Death for Mutiny

A military court martial has sentenced four more Nigerian soldiers to death after finding them guilty of mutiny.

The soldiers, Bankole Taiwo, Ayodele Olawale, Isaiah Olofu and Adebayo Gbenga are set to die by firing squad.

The court delivered its judgment during a sitting in Abuja on the night of Wednesday, December 24. One other soldier, Sule Ochehepo was discharged and acquitted.

Man abducts friend's daughter (Picture)

A suspected abductor, Mathew Alhaji, has been apprehended by policemen attached to Warewa Police Station, Ogun State, for abducting his friend’s daughter (name withheld).

Our correspondent gathered that Alhaji and Mr. Agbotome Denis, who adopted the victim, had been friends for two years.Punch Metro learnt that the suspect abducted the 13-year-year-old girl, around the Arepo area of the state on Sunday, December 14 while she was hawking fura.

Lt. Col., 15 others jailed over Chibok girls’ abduction...

The Nigerian Army has sentenced three officers and 13 other soldiers to two years’ imprisonment each over the April 14, 2014 abduction of over 200 schoolchildren from their hostel in Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram insurgents.

The soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel, a Captain and a Second lieutenant, were arraigned before a General Military Court Martial at the Maxwell Khobe Military Cantonment, Rukuba in Jos, Plateau State, in October 2014.

The officers are Col. A. O. Ojo, Capt. O. O. Ogunrinde, and 2nd Lieutenant V.I. Godknows.

NDLEA forces 44 year old man suspect to excrete drugs

The Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a 44-year-old man, Taiwo Omidiya, who swallowed 87 wraps of drugs suspected to be cocaine and heroin.

The PUNCH learnt that Omidiya, who worked in an automobile company in Spain, was put under check by the operatives after some wraps of cocaine and heroin were found in his underwear.

It was gathered that Omidiya later excreted 87 wraps of the drugs.

George H.W. Bush has been rushed to a Houston hospital after he experienced shortness of breath.

According to Daily Mail, the 90-year-old former US President is being kept for observation at Methodist Hospital, doctors say.


He was taken to the hospital by ambulance on Tuesday night. Representatives for Bush say the hospital stay is a 'precaution.'
