Ex President Jonathan conceded defeat to cover up political atrocities – Kinsman Tells

Kinsman of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and leader of All Progressives Congress, Bayelsa State, Mr. Godwin Sidi, has revealed that Jonathan conceded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari to cover up his atrocities in office.

Sidi, who was the Interim Secretary of the defunct New PDP, berated those commending Jonathan for conceding, saying the former President had no other choice but to do so.

Sidi, who spoke at a news conference in Yenagoa on Friday, also called on the Federal Government and the National Assembly to commence the probe of Jonathan over the whereabouts of the Chibok girls.

President Buhari says the first assignment he will give anyone he appoints as the Attorney General of the Federation will be to examine the recently released Amnesty International report which indicted some top military officers of gross Human Rights Abuse.

An 18 seat bus that left a motor park in Calabar, Cross Rivers state enroute Enugu was involved in a fatal accident at Biase Local government in Cross Rivers state yesterday morning June 11th. 17 passengers in the bus died instantly while one passenger and the bus driver survived with serious injuries. The rare 2003 Ferrari Enzo supercar that boxer Floyd Mayweather bought from the dealership in January is going back up for sale.

Obi Okeke, co-owner of the Chatsworth, Calif. dealership, said he will sell the car for Mayweather. He’s expecting to list it between $3.6 million to $3.8 million.

A Makurdi High Court Judge, Justice Jennifer Ijohor, on Thursday June 11th, sentenced a housewife, Mrs Ternenge Tersoo, to death by hanging for the murder of her 1year-old step son, Pineter Tersoo.

Mrs Tersoo of Mbayegh-Gaav in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue was found guilty of culpable homicide punishable with death under Section 221 of the Penal Code.

Sad: 22-Year-Old UNILAG Student Goes Missing, Boyfriend Arrested

A dancer, Samson Babarinde, and two of his friends have been arrested by the police over the disappearance of a 22-year-old student of the University of Lagos, Bunmi Oluwa.

Oluwa and Babarinde were reportedly dating each other.

The 300-level student, who lived with her sister in the Lekki area of the state, was said to have been missing since Tuesday, May 12.

She had told her sister that she was going to school on the fateful day but reportedly headed for a bar in Small Kuramo, a neighbouring community, where Babarinde and his friends – Patrick Okechukwu and Lucky Onuah – work as dancers.

LAGOS: Father Brutalizes Son Before Dumping Him at Bus Stop (Photo)

The police in Lagos have arrested a man, Sikiru Mustapha, who allegedly brutalised his four-year-old son, and abandoned him at a bus station in the Iwaya area of Yaba.

B’Haram: Pres. Buhari to present military’s needs to G-7

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said he had ordered the nation’s service chiefs to produce a list of the logistics needed by the military to successfully execute the war against the Boko Haram sect.

Confusion at ports as Federal Government increases import tariff

There was confusion at the Lagos ports on Wednesday as importers and clearing agents had difficulties clearing their goods following the implementation of the Economic Community of West African States’ Common External Tariff.

All the 16 members of the ECOWAS, including Nigeria, had agreed to introduce a uniform import tariff, pegged at 35 per cent maximum, from January this year, to facilitate trade within the region.

25 year old Laquanda Newby, has been charged with 3 counts of contributing to the delinquency or abuse of child after police said she left her two children inside her hot car outside the County Courthouse.

According to news report, Newby was at the courthouse to turn herself in for a previous situation that involved her allegedly leaving a child in a hot car.

On May 26, Newby was accused of leaving a child in a car while she shopped at Sam’s Club. When police arrived, they found Newby by her car and could not arrest her for the alleged crime because they had not witnessed it.

Tragic: ABU Professor Murdered After Mob Mistook Him For Boko Haram

Following the tragic death of a professor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Ahmed Falaki, The Assistant Inspector- General, Zone 1, Kano, Yabo Muhammad, told journalists on Wednesday that Mr. Falaki was not killed by a gunshot fired by the police but by mob action when he was mistaken for a terrorist.

Mr. Muhammad said the late scholar was coming back from Bauchi state on a trip and made a stop over to change a deflated tyre. He said Mr. Falaki’s Toyota Hilux van was then seized at gun point by fleeing insurgents. He added that the villagers chasing the insurgents had mistook Mr. Falaki for one of the terrorists and killed him.
