12 year old boy charged with murder for shooting home less man

 A 12 year old boy has been charged with murder for shooting a 54 year old homeless man in the head on June 28th. Sharron townsend was arrested on Thursday for the murder of Thomas Trent, 54, after police identified him as the gunman in footage from a security camera near the shooting.

Trent's body was found lying outside an abandoned restaurant.The footage recorded two young men walking near the site where Trent was killed.

Ugandan court annuls anti-gay law

The panel of five judges on the East African country’s Constitutional Court said the speaker of parliament acted illegally when she allowed a vote on the measure despite at least three objections — including from the country’s prime minister — over a lack of a quorum when the bill was passed on Dec. 20.

“The speaker was obliged to ensure that there was a quorum,” the court said in its ruling. “We come to the conclusion that she acted illegally.”The ruling was made before a courtroom packed with Ugandans opposing or supporting the measure. Activists erupted in loud cheers after the court ruled the law is now “null and void.”

Chika Amalaha fails 'B' sample test, stripped of commonwealth gold

16 year old Nigerian weightlifter, Chika Amalaha has been stripped of her Commonwealth Gold medal after her 'b' sample tested positive to banned substances.

Commonwealth Games Federation announced today Friday August 1 that her B sample also showed traces of the substances amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide, both of which are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Amalaha might face a sports ban of up to 2 years.

Ebola scare: Ghana bans flights from Nigeria

The Ghanaian government today issued a statement banning all flights from Nigeria, Sierra leone,Liberia and Guinea.

Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, Charles Asare said that the measure was part of a set of emergency management plans rolled out to combat the spread of the Ebola virus.

Ebola: Corpse from Liberia causes panic in Anambra; Kolanut can cure it — Prof Maurice

There was tension, on Thursday, in Anambra State, as the state government raises the alarm over suspected Ebola-infected corpse flown from Liberia to the state through Lagos.

The Anambra State Ministry of Health, on Thursday, announced that there are fears in the state that the dreaded Ebola disease might have sneaked into the state through a corpse deposited in Apex Mortuary, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area, at the weekend.

It was gathered that the corpse was deposited at one of the morgues at the weekend and already over 50 persons in contact with the corpse had been quarantined until epidemiologists from Federal Ministry of Health certifies them free.

Boy rapes Nursing mother, threatens to kill her baby

A 19-year-old boy, Peter Momoh, has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for raping a nursing mother.

The woman (name withheld), was said to have given birth through Caesarian Section three months ago.
The incident occurred at Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
It was learnt that the suspect, who was living in the same neighborhood as the victim, gained entrance into the victim’s room through the window.

Police sources said the suspect grabbed the three-month old baby and threatened to kill the baby if the mother did not succumb to his sexual desires.

The Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, disclosed that it was close to apprehending the 33-year-old man who allegedly strangled his lover, a 39-year-old mother of four in her apartment at Green Estate, Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos, two weeks ago.This is just as it has identified the fleeing suspect as one Kelechi Williams.
All was reportedly going on well for Williams and his international business woman lover and Chief Executive Officer /Managing Director of Edmark International, identified as Njideka Lizzy Nzewe, until July 19, 2014.

According to Vanguard, the late Njideka who was to travel to the United States of America on July 24, 2014, with her kids, had gone to the bank in the company of Williams to withdraw N4 million.

At Least 15 Killed & 90 Wounded as Israel Shells UN School in Gaza

GAZA CITY (dpa/NAN) ― At least 15 people died and 90 were wounded on Wednesday when Israeli tanks shelled a UN school in the northern Gaza Strip where scores of civilians reportedly took refuge.

The al-Hussein school in the Jabalia refugee camp, which is run by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), was shelled for the second time in less than a week, witnesses said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said in Tel Aviv that a preliminary inquiry found that militants fired mortar shells from near the school at Israeli soldiers in the area, who “returned fire to the origin.’’

Ebola Virus: Nigeria Immigration Service Maintains Intense Screening of Immigrants at Ports

ABUJA (NAN) ― The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it is maintaining strict screening of visitors at airports, seaports and border areas to prevent the spread of Ebola Virus into the country.

Emeka Obua, NIS Public Relations Officer, stated this in Abuja on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

 He said that the Service was collaborating with the Port Health Services and Plant Quarantine Services to screen visitors entering the country.

 “All immigrants, including plants and animals, entering the country are screened for any form of disease that can cause harm to the health of Nigerian citizens.

Christians Turn Out To Oppose ‘Satanic Black Mass’ in America

Over 37,000 people especially Catholics have signed a petition against a planned satanic black mass in Oklahoma City. The Catholic archbishop of the city is also protesting against the mass by Satanists.
