Frightening Story of How 120 Escaped Death after Aero Aircraft Developed Fault Mid-air ...

Over 120 passengers, including the Director, Muslim Rights Concern, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, on Friday evening escaped death as an Aero Contractors Airline Flight 180 from Lagos to Kaduna developed technical fault mid-air.

The aircraft was said to have suddenly lost altitude, 20 minutes after it departed the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, forcing the aircraft to wobble in the air for over one hour before it was eventually diverted to Abuja.

Akintola, who broke the news to New Mail, said the flight took off from Lagos at exactly 6.30pm.

Oh Mine! Did the Senate really pass a law which legalizes sex with an 11 year old?

Few days ago i reported  that the Nigerian Senate had on Wednesday June 3rd passed a bill (see here) that approved prison terms for rapists and anyone who has sex with a child under 11 years old. That means if the child is above 11, men can have sex with them and face no consequences? Still hard to believe. FFK just reacted to it on Twitter

One year ago, we told you about the sad story of a young Nigerian banker, Ms. Ebere Ukwu, who went into coma and was placed on life support machine, months after arriving United States from Nigeria, to pursue her desire for best living. Ebere Ukwu, dreamt of elevating her life in America. She wanted to experience the different culture and lifestyle of North America. After she lost her job as a bank manager during Nigeria’s financial meltdown, she decided to move to USA, to live out loud. She embraced all things American.

But she never got a chance to romance the intrigues of life and living here. On June 1, at 12.05 a.m,   Ms. Ebere Ukwu’s dream died with her inside the Intensive Care Unit of Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. She had been in coma for more than two years.

LAGOS: Boy develops seizure attacks, dislocates shoulder after father’s beatings (Photos)

A series of brutal beating of a 16-year-old boy, Lekan Isiaka, has led to the arrest of his father, Monsuru, who was said to have physically abused the boy for about two years.

Neighbours alerted child rights activists to his case after he started having seizures and it became apparent that the child might lose his life from the frequent beatings he got from his auto painter father.

Residents of Ile Ibadan area of Ijegun, Lagos, where the single father lived with his son, said anybody who saw the boy and did not know his history might think he was an imbecile because of what his father’s beatings had turned him to.

A human trafficking suspect, Sunday Yakubu, has explained that he engages in the criminal activity as a result of his ‘good heart.’ Yakubu said he engaged in human trafficking to help the victims become useful citizens and to earn a living.

He also said that he was pushed into the crime because of poverty, adding that he thought he could stop as soon as he made enough money.

While being paraded before journalists in Ilorin on Thursday, Yakubu, who was nabbed by the Nigerian Immigration Services, Kwara State Command in collaboration with the National Union of Road Transport Workers, said he felt sad seeing minors in poverty. He said he wanted to assist them overcome poverty.

Kidnappers free NAN reporter as police arrest suspects in siblings’ abduction (Photo)

The Imo State Police Command on Friday confirmed the release of the state correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, Miss Chidi Opara, who was abducted at her Urata, Owerri residence.

Briefing newsmen on the incident yesterday, the state Commissioner of Police, Austin Evbakavbokun, disclosed that no ransom was paid for her release, adding that the police is still intensifying effort to recover her Toyota Lexus SUV in which she was kidnapped and also arrest her abductors.

“Yesterday, we were alerted about the kidnap of the state correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, because of the pressure from my men, she was released but we would not relent till we recover her vehicle and arrest the kidnappers,” Evbakvbokun said.

Very Graphic Photos: Nigerian Lady Brutally Murdered in Russia

Pictured above is a Nigerian lady, Tonia Okojie and according to information released to NigeriaCamera.net, Tonia left the shores of Nigeria to Russia for a better-life but her life was allegedly cut short at a prime age by a Russian man she worked for. She was reportedly beaten and tortured to death by the man and as proof, photos of her badly beaten corpse were sent to Nigeria Camera. However, the Russian police are allegedly saying that Tonia had an accident, ruling out the issue of being beaten and tortured to death.

Residents of Second East Circular Road in Benin, the Edo State capital, and environs, yesterday trooped out to catch a glimpse of the governor’s wife, Mrs Iara Oshiomhole. She accompanied Governor Adams Oshiomhole to inspect the construction of the road.

It was her first public appearance in Benin since they got married last month. Mrs Oshiomhole performed her first function at Okpekpe, when she presented a cheque to one of the winners of the long distance race.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's daughter Princess Charlotte will be christened on the 5th of July, Kensington Palace has announced. The service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the Palace also said.

The christening will take place at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The princess was born on the 2nd of May at St Mary's Hospital in London, weighing 8lbs 3oz (3.7kg). The fourth in line to the throne, the princess's full name has been registered as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.

Immigration Officials Shocked to Find 68 People Sealed in a Shipping Container...

Sixty-eight suspected illegal immigrants, including two pregnant women and 15 children, have been found inside four different Vessel freight containers at a port in Essex.

They were found during routine Border Force checks at Harwich International Port at about 22:00 BST on Thursday.

Thirty-five people from Afghanistan, 22 from China, 10 from Vietnam and one Russian were discovered.

Oh My! Man in Hot Soup After His 15yr Old Girl Friend Died Aborting His Baby in Lagos

A 20-year-old man, Sodiq Sulaimon, yesterday appeared before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly procuring abortion for his 15-year-old lover (names withheld), who died in the process.

The defendant is facing a one-count charge of manslaughter brought against him by Lagos State Government, for which he pleaded not guilty.

“Sodiq Sulaimon, on or before December 11, 2012, about 4p.m., at 7 Oriokuta Street, Imota, Ikorodu Lagos, in the Ikeja Judicial Division, did unlawfully killed girl (names withheld) by procuring abortion for her,” the charge stated.

Shocking! Couple Find Dead Lizard Inside Canned Tomato Sauce (Photos)

I thought stuff like this only happen in Africa. Alas i was wrong because britain was stunned when a horrified couple found a dead baby lizard inside a can of tomatoes as they cooked lunch.

 Muhammad Hussain and his wife Sanam bought the tomatoes from a local supermarket and opened the can to make the gruesome discovery.

Euro Foods, which owns the supermarket, has apologised for the couple's grim find and has launched an investigation.

Mom accused of killing her kids and freezing their bodies confesses in Court (Pictuer)

A Detroit mother accused of killing two of her children and storing their bodies in a freezer yelled during separate court outbursts Thursday that she killed them.

Mitchelle Blair was temporarily removed during the custody trial to settle her parental rights to her surviving 8-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter.

She was arrested March 24 after court deputies carrying out an eviction at her apartment found the bodies of Stoni Blair, 13, and Stephen Berry, 9, in a deep freezer. Police believe they died months apart in 2012 and 2013.

The NDLEA arrested a 46-year old man with 225 grammes of cocaine concealed in his anus, as he was preparing to board an Air France Flight to Paris at the Lagos airport.

Tochukwu Prosper Nzom who hails from Anambra State is married with two children. NDLEA quoted the 46 year-old auto parts dealer as saying that he would have been paid 1,500 dollars.He said
“I was drinking with friends when I heard them talking about drugs. I actually volunteered to smuggle drugs because of my financial situation. They agreed to pay me 1,500 dollars because it was only three wraps weighing 225 grammes. I am from a poor home,

Rivers State Government bans Dog Meat,Ogogoro as death toll rises to 32

Rivers State government has banned the consumption of local gin popularly called Ogogoro, following the death of about 32 persons, 15 from Bonny Island and Woji in Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas, and the reported death of another 11 persons in Gokana Local Government Area, which included seven male and four females.

The ban by government was due to the increasing death toll from consumption of the alcoholic liquor and dog meat delicacy alleged to contain poisonous ethanol, which now stand at 32.

Vanguard reports that ,Rivers State Director of Disease Control, Dr. Roland Obed Whyte,expressed concern over difficulty in getting samples of the particular gin popularly called Ogogoro or Kai-kai for thorough clinical analysis.
