Photos : Custom Officers beat LASTMA officials blue-black in Lagos

This is according to the official website of the Lagos state traffic management agency (LASTMA), they claim that some officers of the Nigerian customs unleashed terror on them after they arrested a top custom officer for driving one way in Mile 2 lagos.

The statement from LASTMA read;

Crisis erupted at the Mile 2 office of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Tuesday when some officials of the Nigeria Customs launched a violent attack(continue) on officials of the agency, vandalized four vehicles and destroyed valuables in the offices inside the yard in a bid to forcefully remove away a vehicle that was apprehended for driving in a direction prohibited by Law (one way) at Coconut area of Mile 2, Lagos.

Day-Old Baby Becomes Youngest Monarch In History, Crowned King of Igbodo Kingdom

A day-old baby boy was crowned yesterday in Igbodo Kingdom of Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The child, named Ugochukwu, was crowned by the leader of a delegation from the Igbodo palace at St. Luke’s Hospital Asaba, where he boy was delivered.

5yr old girl sustains horrific injuries after being allegedly attacked in school

 5 year old AvaLynn was nearly disfigured when she was allegedly attacked by another pupil at her Elementary school in Mississippi this week. The most bizarre thing about this story is that the school is maintaining that she was not attacked, rather she got the horrific injuries in an accident while playing on the playground. Makes no sense. This looks more like a vicious attack to me.

Her mother and other relatives have opened a Facebook page for the young girl to tell what happened to her and share photos of her injuries, while seeking for justice. Below is what they wrote on the Facebook page about the incident...

Son kills father, buries him in shallow grave in Enugu

A young man said to be a member of a kidnap gang operating in Enugu State, Mr. Chukwuekezie Ofonago has shot his father dead.

The suspect now in police net admitted to have shot his father, Mr. George Ofonago with a double-barrel gun at a hideout where he was kept while demanding an undisclosed sum as ransom from his family.
The incident occurred at Abor village  Enugu Inyi Community, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Joan Rivers had Joked about Death A Day Before Suffering Cardiac Arrest

You all must have heard by now that comedienne Joan Rivers is currently in a medically induced coma after she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest while undergoing a throat surgery at a New York City clinic.

81 year old comedienne, Joan Rivers was undergoing a minor medical procedure at a local clinic, Yorkville Endoscopy. Doctors were putting a scope down her throat to check her vocal cords when she stopped breathing. It was not a major surgery and according to sources and Rivers was sedated at the time. New York police confirmed that a 911 call came in around 9:40 a.m. local time reporting cardiac and respiratory arrest. Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, was initially listed in critical condition but now has been placed in a medically induced coma.

 At least 10 people died when a boat carrying 35 passengers bound for Port Harcourt capsized and sank today. National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) co-ordinator Onimode Bandele told AFP:

“We can confirm that 10 persons died yesterday when a Port Harcourt-bound passenger boat sank. Rescue efforts are ongoing and the agency is already working with other bodies and security agencies in the rescue efforts.”

Senegal confirms first case of Ebola

Senegal has joined the list of west African countries plagued by the deadly Ebola virus disease.

The Sengalese minister of health revealed today that the country has experienced its first case of the disease.Awa Marie Coll Seck told reporters that a young man from Guinea was confirmed to have the virus. This disease has killed over 1500 of the 3000 people infected since its outbreak in February this year.
