Appointments: Uproar as Pres. Buhari favours Northerners...

Nigerians especially those from the Southern part of the country on Friday, expressed concern over the appointments made so far by President Muhammadu Buhari.

They said the appointments were lopsided and not in the best interest of the country.

President Buhari is from Katsina State, Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, are from Kwara and Bauchi states respectively. The judiciary is led by Justice Mahmud Mohammed from Taraba State.

We may negotiate with Boko Haram, Presidency Says

The Federal Government has said that it is open to negotiations with the Boko Haram sect in order to find a lasting solution to the security crisis in the country, if the group is willing.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, in an interview with the BBC.

Linda Barnette has issued marriage licenses in Grenada County, Missisipi for 24yrs. On Tuesday June 30th, she resigned rather than issue gay marriage licenses, writing in her letter of resignation;

Boko Haram Assassinates 11 Of Its Members In Borno...

Islamist militant sect Boko Haram today killed 11 of its members in Miringa village in Biu local government area of Borno state after the members reportedly fled from one its camps near the area.

The militant sect sent at least 20 fighters in hot pursuit of the fleeing members caught up with them in the village as they waited to surrender to government forces.

Villagers told Saharareporters that the militants assembled the deserting members summarily tried them and slit their throats in the presence of horrified villagers and then left their bodies in the village.

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday said that Nigeria and Japan will partner in the area of manufacturing, science and technology to boost job creation.

Buhari also promised that Nigeria will assist Burkina Faso to achieve fair, free and credible elections in October.

97 killed in Boko Haram’s fresh attacks in Borno mosque Today

Suspected Boko Haram militants killed at least 97 people who were praying in mosques or cooking at home in a northeastern Nigerian village, witnesses said Thursday.

Finally Rick Ross granted bail and released from jail

Rick Ross' bond hearing in Fayette County, GA wrapped up yesterday and the judge granted his lawyer's bail request and set his release once he paid a $2 million bond which Ross was able to pay.

He got - $1 million equity from the ex-Holyfield mansion he owns, and another GA property, $500,000 surety bond (from a bail bondsman) and $500k in cold hard cash.

Ross' attorney also promised his client would forfeit the entire Holyfield property (which is worth $5 million) to the county ... if he does anything to obstruct justice or intimidate any witness.

Former Minster of Aviation, Fani-Kayode changes name

Following his discharge and acquittal of money laundering charges on Wednesday by a Federal High Court in Lagos, a former Minster of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has changed his name.

Fani-Kayode, who read a prepared speech outside the courtroom shortly after Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia set him free, said his trial which began in 2008 had almost destroyed his life, his family and his reputation.

He said he would be changing his name by dropping his surname “Fani-Kayode” as a mark of honour and respect for the Lord and as a testimony of God’s love towards him.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening met behind closed-doors with some members of the House of Representatives.

The two aides of the late former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Albert Ilemobade, who allegedly killed the don, have confessed that they carried out the act in order to steal the deceased’s Toyota RAV4.

A Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, who was Principal Security Officer to the wife of the former President, Patience Jonathan, has been shot dead by unknown assailants.

Oh My: Pres. Buhari’s govt incurs N57bn petrol subsidy debt since May 29

The Federal Government has incurred a total sum of N56.784bn in petrol subsidy arrears since Muhammadu Buhari took over as President of the country on May 29, this year.

According to data from the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, obtained from the agency’s website on Friday, the country is said to be incurring petrol subsidy arrears to the tune of N47.32 per day on one litre of petrol.

Between May 29 and now, the current government has spent 30 days in office.
