Military kill 11 Boko Haram members at Cameroon border

 The Nigerian military liquidated 11 suspected Boko Haram fighters close to Cameroon border in Adamawa state on March 27, 2014, Thursday.
DHQ spokesman, Maj.Gen. Chris Olukolade, said in a statement that terrorists were forced out of their hideout in the forest by hunger.
The group of Boko Haram fighters attempted to escape to Cameroon through Taraba and Gumti in Adamawa State. However, they were stunned by heavy fire from troops on patrol.
Gen. Olukolade explained that they had been trapped as a result of ongoing offensive by troops along the borders. Some of the terrorists gave up, because they could no longer bear the hunger in their make shift camps.

“Those who were apprehended led troops to other hideouts where fierce fighting ensued.
“ 7 (seven) terrorists died, while a large number of Improvised Explosive Devices and rifles were recovered, including over seventy motorcycles.  

“Similar encounter in Gombi also led to the death of 4 (four) other terrorists,” the statement said.

Gen. Olukolade further revealed that the Multi National Joint Task Force had arrested a heavily-armed suspect, who was claiming dual nationalities of Chad and Burkina-Faso. The foreign arms dealer is now being questioned by the operatives.
It would be added that Cameroonian police informed on March 27, 2014, it had arrested three men suspected of being arms traffickers that supply Boko Haram.
