 Former US First Daughter and global activist, Chelsea Clinton has welcomed her first child.

34 year old Chelsea and her investment banker husband Marc Mezvinsky welcomed their first child, a daughter, on Friday, Sept. 26. The baby is the first grandchild of Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have gushed at length about their excitement at a number of public speaking events in the past few months.

Doctor Successfully Treats Ebola with HIV Drug in Liberia(photo)

 A doctor in rural Liberia inundated with Ebola patients says he's had good results with a treatment he tried out of sheer desperation: an HIV drug.

CNN reports that Dr. Gobee Logan had given the drug, lamivudine, to 15 Ebola patients, and all but two survived. That's a 7% mortality rate. Across West Africa, the virus has killed 70% of its victims.
Outside Logan's Ebola center in Tubmanburg, four of his recovering patients walk the grounds, always staying inside the fence that separates the Ebola patients from everyone else.

F. Ikponmwen of Edo State High Court, Benin-City on a 3- count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence. 

Ibhonitie and Charity allegedly belong to the group of fraudsters using the internet to defraud unsuspecting victims.

Murder Suspect Arrested 5 Years After Fleeing To Nigeria From UK (Photos)

A man wanted in connection with the murder of a promising young rapper who was stabbed to death outside a nightclub in south London has been arrested in Nigeria after 5years.

Jeffrey Okafor was held by officials on Tuesday over the fatal stabbing of Carl Beatson Asiedu. Mr Asiedu, a former student at Selhurst High School for Boys and St Francis Xavier College in Clapham, died in the street after performing a set at Club Life in Vauxhall in August 2009.

Scotland Yard said he was last seen on CCTV boarding a flight at Heathrow Airport using his brother's passport about two weeks after the murder. Proceedings are now underway for his return to UK so he can face charges for the killing.

Church members get $500 each to spend as they wish..What would you do?

Most of you will read this hoping your high-flying mega-church could borrow a leaf from LaSalle Street Church, Chicago, Illinois, which shared $160,000 among its 300 member congregation –  with no conditions attached.

As the story goes, the church came up with the unusual plan of giving each church member $500 to spend on whatever they wish – as long as it is for good.

According to Laura Truax, the Church Senior Pastor, the plan came up as suddenly as the resources to fund it had appeared. In June, the British Columbia-based Onni Group acquired Atrium Village, a 309-unit residential development funded by Security Properties Inc., Crane Construction Co. and four churches, including LaSalle Street Church.

Lagos House Speaker, Ikuforiji acquitted of all charges in N600m money laundering case

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has been discharged and acquitted by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had accused Mr. Ikuforiji and Oyebode Atoyebi, his aide, of laundering about N600 million and were charged to court.

Justice Buba described the trial as “anachronistic” and should not have been allowed to continue.
“This proceeding should have been treated as an aborted trial and the charges should have been withdrawn,” he added.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) on Friday, annouced the appointment of  leading fashion designer, Victoria Beckham as its International Goodwill Ambassador.

Evil Woman pours hot water on 12-year-old maid, burns chest

One Mrs. Bethelyn Falade, 27, who resides on Church Street, Powerline, in the Ijaiye-Ojokoro area of Lagos, has been arrested and is currently facing charges for assaulting and torturing her housemaid, Chinecherem Sunday with hot water.

Mrs Falade allegedly carried out the act as punishment for her stubbornness.

Trouble began when Falade enquired of her missing laptop which the housemaid said was taken by her brother-in-law, identified simply as Lekan, while she was not around.

Not satisfied with the maid’s explanation, Falade got angry and blamed her (the maid) for not notifying her before the laptop was taken away.

Pastor loses wife and four children in fire outbreak in Warri(PHOTO)

The Parish Pastor of the Christ Apotolic Church in Otumara in Warri Delta state, Pastor J.O. Kayoda, yesterday September 25th lost his wife and four children, two boys and two girls, in a fire outbreak at their home. According to reports, all five family members were burnt beyond recognition after an electric fault in the area caused a fire outbreak in the missionary building of the church where the pastor and his wife stayed. The Pastor was said to be away in Osun state to attend a Pastoral conference when the fire killed his entire family.

According to a neighbor, the fire started at about 11pm and rescue operation to save the woman and her children was very difficult due to the iron protectors the house had.

 A former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ekiti State and staunch supporter of Mr Ayo Fayose, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye was yesterday evening shot dead by four unknown gunmen at the Ijigbo area of Ado-Ekiti the state capital.

According to Sahara reporters, Mr Aderiye was accosted and shot at close range while on his way home after a meeting with the governor elect. President Jonathan's Cabinet To Experience Major Shake Up As Six Ministers Allegedly Plan To Quit

At least, six ministers may quit President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet in October as preparations for the 2015 general elections peak.

The affected ministers are expected to resign their appointments in order to pursue their governorship ambitions on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

$9.3m Cash Transfer: Security Source Confirms Pastor Oritsejafor Was Involved In Botched Arms Deal

Woman arrested after burying her own baby alive in Akwa Ibom(Evil)

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a woman, Ms Patience Aaron, for attempting to kill her new born baby girl.Punch reports that Aaron, an indigene of Afaha Abia village, in the Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state, on September 14, buried her one-day baby alive.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gabriel Achong, said during a press conference in Uyo on Thursday that the baby was rescued alive nearly five hours after she had been buried.He said

The state police detective on September14, 2014 arrested one Patience Aaron of Afaha Abia village in the Nsit Ibom LGA for attempting to kill the baby girl she gave birth to.“Patience buried her one-day-old baby in a shallow grave. The baby was rescued alive. Investigation is in progress,”

Shocking: Released Chibok Girl is 4 Months Pregnant

One of the abducted Chibok girls recently released by the Boko Haram insurgents, Susan Ishaya, is four months pregnant, chairman of Chibok community in Abuja, Tsamdo Hosea Abana, has confirmed.

Abana, who made the disclosure through phone chat with Leadership, lamented the trauma parents and the abducted girls are going through, saying their lives will never be the same again.

Security sources said Miss Ishaya was found near a police station in the border town of Mubi on Wednesday after she was left there by the insurgents. Abana confirmed that the girl in question was among the schoolgirls abducted by the insurgent group about five months ago in Chibok, Borno State, adding that she has been moved to Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Yola.

Another 13 Nigerian soldiers to face trial for cowardice

There were indications in Abuja on Thursday   that the authorities of the Nigerian Army might soon arraign 13 soldiers for cowardice and failure to obey orders from their superiors to advance at the (war) front.

Investigations revealed that the soldiers directed to join their counterparts at the 7 Division, entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating the on going counter-terrorism operation in the North-East early in the year.

It was gathered that the General Court Martial set up to handle the cases emanating from the on-going operation   led by Brig. Gen. CC Okonkwo will hear the   cases against the soldiers .

Having been sidelined with injury since late August, Nigerian footballer, Osaze Odemwingie says his successful surgery represents a new beginning in his career.
Odemwingie got injured while playing in Stoke’s 1-0 victory against Manchester City at the end of August.

The 33-year-old Stoke FC striker says he hopes to return stronger than ever after undergoing successful knee surgery on Tuesday, 23 September.
