The wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Saturday insisted that her husband would remain in office for eight years to complete his two terms in office, despite the opposition. PUNCH reports that Mrs. Jonathan, said this during the Peoples Democratic Party women rally, under the auspices of Women for Change and Development Initiative, in Benin, Edo State.

She was accompanied by national and state leaders of the party. Women, drawn from different support groups across the state had turned out for event as early as 9am.

Indian Nun,75, Gang-Rape By Eight Raiders As She tried To Stop Robbery At Christian School In India

 A nun aged 75 has been gang-raped by a group of up to eight robbers in India in the latest attack to shock the country.

Tragedy as Military Helicopter Carrying Sick Five-Day-Old Baby Crashes in Serbia

Seven people were killed when a military helicopter that was rescuing a desperately sick baby crashed in Serbia.

Official said that the helicopter was evacuating a five-day old child with life-threatening respiratory problems from the south of the country when it crashed near Belgrade.

The helicopter had been sent to save the new-born after the ambulance transporting the baby to an emergency hospital in Belgrade got stuck by a landslide blocking the road.

The All Progressives Congress has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of taking political advantage of calamities that have befallen Nigeria under his watch, saying giving N5m to

Young Woman, 20, Jailed For 10 Years For Stabbing Partygoer (Photos)

 

A young woman who plunged a nine-inch kitchen knife into a fellow partygoer in a row over alcohol, has been jailed for 10 years.

Samantha Houlgrave, 20, stabbed Samuel Madden because he wanted to take unopened drinks he had brought to her house party home with him.

He suffered damaged to his kidneys and liver and was told if the wound was half an inch either way he would be dead.

OMG: Woman Incurs £45,000 Debt in An Online Game

 A woman racked up debts of more than £45,000 after becoming addicted to online bingo.
Kelly Nield played the game non-stop for up to eight hours at at time, maxing out five credit cards and draining the savings she shared with her partner.

Her addiction became so bad that she began to have suicidal thoughts and even turned to self harm after worrying about how she would ever escape the habit.

The 32-year-old had been signed off sick from her job as a residential childcare worker in 2012 when she stumbled across Foxy Bingo.

The site had been advertised with a bright, brash advert and was promoted on daytime TV programme The Jeremy Kyle Show – giving Kelly a way to kill and hour or two.
“You can go on and do it in your own home in comfort and to begin with it’s not a big deal,” she said.

“I’d been to Bingo with friends in the past but not spent more than about £20. It had never been an issue before.

“But they always let you win something to begin with or offer you free plays. In just over six months, I was £10,000 in debt.”

21 Feared Dead, 21 Missing After Ferry Capsizes In Myanmar...

Twenty-one people are dead and 21 missing after a ferry capsized Friday night in Myanmar, the southeast Asian nation's government said.

Myanmar's Ministry of Information said in a statement that the ship capsized as it sailed, in bad weather conditions, around the coastal city of Sittwe. That's when a large wave crashed into the ferry, causing it capsize near Myaybone and Myaukkyine islands.

British Airways Flight To Dubai Forced To Return To Heathrow Airport due to Foul Odour In Toilet...LOL

A town councillor from Hertfordshire says a British Airways flight to Dubai was forced to return to London due to a foul odour emanating from an overflowing toilet.

Hertsmere councillor Abhishek Sachdev, who represents Potters Bar Parkfield, said the seven-hour flight was aborted ‘because of a smelly poo in the toilet’.

Cabin crew were unable to fix the problem and the smell became unbearable for passengers seated nearby, forcing the plane to turn around and land at Heathrow Airport.

OMG: Turkey Detains 16 Indonesians ‘Attempting To Join ISIL’

Sixteen Indonesians have been detained in Turkey while attempting to cross into Syria to join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group, Turkish foreign minister has said.

Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Friday that police were looking for another group of 16 Indonesians reported missing in Turkey.

The group that was caught in the Turkish city of Gaziantep near Syrian border included 11 children, four women and one man, Turkish media reported.

Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Indonesia’s security minister, said late on Thursday the country was investigating the incident, but it was clear that the group wanted to join ISIL “to have a better life in accordance with Islamic sharia laws”.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Tuesday arrested a 60-year-old pastor who doubles as a traditional healer, Mr. Udo Job, for raping a 14-year-old daughter of one of his patients.

The girl had visited her sick father when the man sexually assaulted her.
