Problem: Manny Pacquiao undergoes shoulder surgery following Mayweather defeat

Manny Pacquiao has undergone surgery on a torn rotator cuff in in his injured right shoulder.

Following his defeat to Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night, the Filipino revealed he had been suffering with the issue in the buildup to the fight.

He requested a painkilling injection two hours before the bout but was denied because he had left it too late to disclose the injury.

Pacquiao, 36, went under the knife on Wednesday and is expected to be out of action for up to a year.
