Yes int Magazine is reporting that four of the Esama of Benin Kingdom’s children have been causing him so much sadness and serious pains.

The first is his daughter, Mabel, whose marriage has been anything but happy.

The bad press that has continually trailed that union doesn’t give the Okada University owner any joy.



The second is his eldest son, Lucky. The fun lover who governed Edo State for all of 8 years did not only fail in governance, he was also convicted at the end of his tenure for corruption. The opprobrium that comes with that as well as having the tag of an ex-convict attached to his person disturbs his father so much.

Omosode, whose marriage to Aven, a Benin Prince, from the royal Akenzua family, crashed barely after one year is also another source of discomfort to the man and his Jamaican wife, Lady Cherry.
Omosode, now a House of Representatives member-elect and Aven, had one of the most celebrated weddings in Benin, Edo State. But no sooner was it contracted than it collapsed, with messy allegations of battery and so on still trailing it.

The last and the fourth is Mike who was on Thursday, April 30, 2015 convicted for fraud and subsequently jailed for 6 years by Justice Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court, Benin.

The handsome dude who is married to a foreigner was nailed for stealing a whopping N25 billion.
Insiders who are close to the family told us that Igbinedion has been very sad over these series of events. “But which father wouldn’t be sad? All families have their own issues, but his are not giving him joy at all. Because so far, it’s like, as the family is walking out of one, another is waiting around the corner for them.

“Lucky and Mike are now ex-convicts. From the same family o! And Mabel and Omosode have issues with their marriages. No father will be happy about that, no matter how much he may try to cover up”.

Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, 81, is one of the most controversial persons from Edo State.

Specifically from Okada, the former cop is one of the richest Nigerians. An astute businessman, he has been able to triumph in spite of his little education.

The owner of the defunct Okada Air, his most visible and vibrant business today is the Okada University, which is highly respected in terms of their academic excellence.
