Surprise: See Court Ruling On Refusing Sex During Honeymoon,

An Indian high court on Monday ruled that refusing to have sex on honeymoon does not amount to intolerable cruelty, overturning an earlier divorce decree.

The complainant had argued that his 29-year-old wife “failed at an essential obligation of marital life’’ by refusing to consummate their union during the four nights of their honeymoon.

A report quoted his lawyer as saying that the action left him in “tremendous mental agony.’’
The husband also did not like her going to a different city for work in shirt and trousers, according to his lawyer.Continue...

A family court granted him the requested divorce in 2012.

The wife appealed in the Mumbai high court, which found in her favour on March 3, saying: “Married life should be assessed as a whole and a few isolated instances over certain period will not amount to cruelty.
“The wife’s lawyer provided a valid reason for her behaviour, and there was no complaint since the honeymoon."
