Trailer Crushes Teenager in Edo State...

Tragedy struck on Tuesday on the Auchi-Okene highway in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, when a trailer crushed a 16-year-old girl to death.

The victim, Cynthia Nikoro, was said to have attempted to cross the road when the vehicle, operated by a manufacturing firm,  knocked her down at Angle 90 junction.
Nikoro was said to have died instantly.



An eyewitness, Mr. Isaah Adamu, said the late teenager, who was in company with her family members, did not notice the oncoming vehicle.

“The victim and her family members where crossing from the Angel 90 junction to the opposite side of the road when the trailer knocked her down.‎ The girl died on the spot,” he said.

Some angry youths were said to have descended on the driver of the truck before he managed to escape.

‎It was also gathered that the trailer was set ablaze by the youths.

They were, however, dispersed by some policemen, who arrived at the scene shortly after.
