So South Africa confirm they won’t play Nigeria on March 29...

South Africa have denied that they are set to face the Super Eagles in a friendly game.

After South American giants, Argentina and Uruguay turned down the Bafana Bafana in a friendly match, series of reports have claimed that they had agreed to play Nigeria.

The Eagles’ clash against Ghana on March 29 in London, was cancelled because FIFA’s new rules does not permit national teams playing two matches in two different continents within three days. Nigeria will face Bolivia at the Uyo International Stadium on March, which means they can only play an African opponent three days later.

However, Dominic Chimhavi, who is SAFA’s Communication Manager denied there has ever been talks between the two nations about a friendly match.

“No, there’s nothing like that in place,” Chimhavi told Goal.

Ephraim Mashaba’s men drew 2-2 with the Eagles in their last match of the nations cup qualifier. The result denied Nigeria a chance to defend their Africa Cup of Nations title this year in Equatorial Guinea.
