The Power Plant Commisioned by Jonathan Was Obasanjo's Project - Dele Momodu Says

The Ovation boss Mr. Dele Momodu who is a staunch Buharist took to instagram to rubbish claims that the Omotosho Power Generation Plant was President Jonathan's project. He described the whole commission as a scam. He said that Obasanjo had earlier initiated and commissioned the plant way back in 2007.

Anyone who knows anything about the Nigerian power industry knows that the 3 Generation plants in Omotosho, Papalanto and Geregu are the flagship Nigerian Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) projects of the Obasanjo administration. It’s the same projects they accuse Obasanjo of spending billions on and we still didn’t have power (an ignorant allegation championed then by Hon. Ndidi Elumelu).  

The present governor of Cross River Liyel Imoke was the force behind these projects as Obasanjo‘s adviser on Power and NIPP coordinator and later Power Minister and I remember US company General Electric supplied the gas turbines.
