Again, militants bar Patience Jonathan from attending rally...

Again, a group of militants, under the aegis of Mangrove Boys of Bayelsa, has warned the wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, to steer clear of presidential campaign rally in Bayelsa State on Friday (today).

The group also warned the First Lady against any plot to connive with the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria to embarrass Governor Seriake Dickson at the rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Yenagoa.

As a soft-landing for Patience, the unrepentant militants said since she insisted on attending the rally, she should set aside all her plans with TAN to disgrace Dickson or she would be thoroughly disgraced.

The group, in a statement entitled, “Final Warning to Mrs. Jonathan,” said its members had been fully mobilised to publicly disgrace the President’s wife and her husband if their loyalists made any cynical move against the governor.

In the statement signed by the President of the Executive Council, MBB, Mr. Opuyo Engobare, the group described itself as “dreaded” and warned Patience against undermining the integrity of its members.

The group said they would visit Dickson with their wrath if he tried to use his position as the chief security officer of the state to stop its members.

The MBB had a few weeks ago threatened to disgrace Mrs. Jonathan if she accompanied her husband to the rally. Two days after, another group, Bayelsa Youth Vanguard, issued a similar warning.

Worried by the development, the Aso Rock Villa decided to flood the campaign venue, Samson Siasia Sports Complex, and its environs, with security operatives including the deployment of 500 specially trained Presidential guards and 500 crack team of the Department of State Service.

But the group said its members would not be deterred by such massive security deployments.

The MBB said, “We remain resolute in our statement and actions, and as such, we have completed the mobilisation of our determined youths who are ready to face any security hurdles at the rally.”
