Meet the Mum who Kept her N5m Facelift a Secret; then Unveiled it at Daughter's Wedding (Photos)

 Unbeknownst to her nearest and dearest — whom she knew would regard it at best as foolish and at worst as a betrayal — 67 year old Dee Dawson, pictured above, had a £20,000 cosmetic surgery in a bid to look younger, and decided the perfect place to unveil it was at the wedding.

According to Dee,  she hated photographs of herself and always found it excruciating to go to the hairdresser and sit in front of a mirror for a couple of hours. So, in May, she went ahead with the gruelling, eight-hour cosmetic operation, which involved a full face and neck lift, removal of the excess skin on her eyelids and the bags beneath her eyes, the injection of fat from her stomach into her cheeks and laser resurfacing of her skin. And it left her looking 20 years younger.

While some may think it is supremely selfish for a mother to divert the spotlight from the bride, Dee felt her friends and family would be happy for her. ‘I knew they would end up coming round when they saw the results,’ she says. See her after N5m facelift photos after the cut.
