Phots: Groom left at altar after bride stalled by President Obama's motorcade

Bride-to-be Debra-Ann Robinson had one of those 'oh my' moments Thursday morning when she was late to tie the knot, thanks to President Barack Obama's motorcade.

Picture a bride dressed up with nowhere to go after Lake Shore Drive got shut down.

“I had an 11:00 AM date or time and we were stuck in the motorcade for about a half an hour for the President to pass by, so I was pretty nervous and all but yeah,” said Robinson in an exclusive interview with FOX 32's Tisha Lewis.

If she was nervous, just imagine how her husband-to-be felt waiting at Cook County's Marriage Court.

“He was here already waiting, so he was calling and wondering where we were and so I told him that we were stuck in the motorcade in the traffic,” said Robinson.

“Of course my nerves were shot, still is a little bit but I'm a lot better now,” said Robert Sanders.

Sanders was sweating it out while Debra was stuck on Lake Shore Drive near North Avenue Beach – something they won't soon forget.

“I'm just happy that everything worked out,” said Sanders.

After all, Lake Shore Drive was closed in both directions as President Obama headed from his Kenwood home to Evanston Thursday morning.

The shut-down was long enough that commuters got out of their cars, including Robinson.

“We stopped and I stretched my legs and there were a bunch of people taking pictures,” said Robinson.

Those pictures lit up social media.

Todd Shissler tweeted some pictures showing Robinson in all white standing amid gridlock, but how many people can say the President actually had something to do with their wedding?

So, what's the newlywed couple going to do tonight? Aside from the obvious, FOX 32's Tisha Lewis reports they plan on catching up on what President Obama did during his Chicago trip.

The couple said they met on the CTA and it was love at first sight.
