See The Robot Developed By Nigerian Air Force To Fight Terrorism.. Make sense ni

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is about to finish the production of an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) to be used for combatting terrorism in the country.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the robot will be capable of detonating high calibre explosives and of intelligence gathering.

However, they stressed there was delay in project completion due to lack of funding.
During the news conference in Kaduna, NAF commandant Toni Adokwe claimed the UGV would help Nigerian security with battle against insurgency.

He also recalled that the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), the first drone of its kind in Africa, was launched last year by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Commenting on the new device, NAF official said:

"When the project is completed, the robot would go a long way in countering activities of terrorist groups, as detonation of bombs will not require the physical presence of a human being at the scene."
He added that proper funding would enable Nigeria achieve greater success in defence-related technology.
It would be recalled that the home-made UAV, or GULMA, was introduced on December 17, 2013 by the country leader in Kaduna.

When in April, 2014, Boko Haram insurgents abducted more than 200 school girls from Chibok, Borno State, NAF came under attack over not using the device to locate the children. Responding to the attacks, they explained that the presented product was just a prototype adding that the mass production had not yet started.
