Edo APC Awaits Defection of Igbinedion from PDP

A top chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion yesterday paid a surprise visit to Governor Adams Oshiomhole in his office at the Government House.

Chief Igbinedion, who is the Esama of Benin Kingdom and father of former Governor of the State Chief Lucky Igbinedion arrived the Government House at exactly 1:05 p.m. in his customized maroon red Rolls Royce Phantom Car. Continue....

Chief Igbinedion who was obviously absent at the PDP National Chairman’s Tour of the South-South which train berthed in Calabar, Cross River State yesterday spent about 35 minutes behind closed doors with the Governor. He later told reporters after they were invited in that: “He is the Governor of Edo state and I have come to see my Governor”.

He thanked Governor Oshiomhole for receiving him and his entourage to his office.

On his part, the state Governor congratulated the PDP Chieftain on his forthcoming birthday.  He said: “let me welcome you formally to my very modest office, thank you for taking time out to visit. I am in receipt of your birthday invitation, I promise you that I will be there live with our friends. It is something that we want to join in celebrating because longevity and good health are a rare combination. Some people have longevity, but poor health, others have good health but not long life, so when God gives you both, only He and He alone decides whom he chooses to so favour.

“We pray that the birthday activities will come without any incident and God will preside over the entire affairs.”
