A Ray of Hope…US Surveillance Flights Spot Chibok Girls

This news brings a ray hope in rescuing the Chibok girls abducted by Islamist militant sect Boko Haram in April 2014.

Today Thursday 7th August 2014 makes it the 115th day since the girls were kidnapped.

The Washington Post is reporting that recent U.S. surveillance flights over the northeastern part of Nigeria showed what appeared to be large group of girls being held together in remote locations.

According to the report, in early July the flights over the north east spotted a group of 60 to 70 girls held in an open field, and late last month, they spotted roughly 40 girls in a different field.

Spotting the girls proves they haven’t been sold into marriage as widely reported or forced into sex slavery.

Although US and Nigerian officials don’t have enough evidence to prove whether the two group of girls they saw are the same, they believe they are the Chibok girls.
“It’s unusual to find a large group of young women like that in an open space. We’re assuming they’re not a rock band of hippies out there camping.”, said a US defense official.
Let’s keep the campaign alive – #BringBackOurGirls.
