SAD: 34 Traders Die, Score Injured In Another Auto Crash

Thirty four persons have been reported dead in a ghastly auto crash that occurred at Gadan Kuiwo, along Rijau-Kontagora road, Niger State.

The Federal Road Safety Commission’s Unit Commander, in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger, Mr Pius Bagoohlepeng, disclosed this to newsmen on Friday.

The commander said the accident involved 78 persons with 34 reported dead on the spot while 30 were injured.

He said both the remains of the dead and the injured have been conveyed to hospital

He said the accident involved two articulated vehicles, a trailer conveying cattle and an oil tanker.

According to him, the vehicles had a head on collusion, which sent the trailer tumbling into the bridge bed at about 11pm on Wednesday.

Bagoohlepeng said the trailer was coming from Gadan Zaimari, Zamfara State, and was heading for Lagos.

He alleged that the driver of the trailer was believed to be on high speed minutes before the crash.
