Buhari Meets Okorocha In Owerri, Enters Secret Meeting

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, a former head of state and Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, yesterday had a closed door meeting that lasted a few hours.

The meeting was held at the arrival lounge of the Sam Mbakwe Internatinal Cargo Airport, Owerri.
Buhari was on his way to attend  the the burial ceremony of the father-in-law of Chief Ikechi Emenike, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but stopped over at the Owerri airport.

Details of their discussion was not made known to journalist but there are speculations that it could be related to 2015 elections as Buhari may have started to lobby for Okorocha who is a popular candidate of the APC from the southeast zone.

However, the senior special assistant to the governor on media, Sam Onwuemeodo said the visits had nothing to do with Okorocha’s ambition.

According to him, Okorocha only received Buhari at the airport and afterward left him to continue his journey to Abia.

Meanwhile, Buhari's visit was said to have coincided with the visit of over 100 women from Niger state to the Government House, Owerri.

The women who wore T-shirts with the inscription “APC Women, Niger State Support Okorocha” stayed all through the day at the Government House with their children and baggages.
