How Unrepentant Sex Worker Who Escaped Rehabilitation In Abuja Was Nabbed

A commercial sex worker simply identified as Tina who is undergoing rehabilitation at the FCT Women Rehabilitation Centre, Sabon Lugbe, escaped over the weekend back to the streets where she was spotted and rearrested.

Tina who was rearrested alongside 16 others during a raid by the FCT joint taskforce on city sanitation at one of the spots where sex workers hangout in the city was the discipline prefect at the rehabilitation centre.

No one could ascertain how Tina managed to escape unseen as she refused saying anything when asked.
Speaking about the incident, Mrs Blessing Onuh, Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat said she was surprised with Tina's action because she had chosen to undergo rehabilitation of her freewill, adding that the government would not relent in getting rid of of all forms of prostitution in the FCT.

She said those who had been arrested would appear before the mobile court today.

Also speaking during the raid, Coordinator of the Society Against prostitution and Child Labour in Nigeria (SAP-CLN), Mrs Grace Adogo, appealed to young ladies to take advantage of government’s gesture to improve themselves and stop trading their bodies for temporary financial gains.
