Drug Addict, 45, Hangs Self In Taraba State

Jalingo, Taraba State - On Monday, a 45-year-old security guard hung himself in the premises of Hassan Primary School, Jalingo, capital of Taraba State.

Sa'idu Babura's lifeless body was found dangling from one of the trees around the school. He reportedly worked as a security guard at a residence near Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, for six years.

According to people who knew him, the deceased, an indigene of Babura Local Government, Jigawa State, had been battling drug addiction for many years. It was also learnt that Mr. Babura had escaped from the Psychiatric Unit of Jalingo Specialist Hospital where he was kept for several months.

The local olice confirmed the incident, adding that the remains were deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, and investigation into the matter was ongoing.
